Frequently Asked Questions

We get a lot of great questions from Ajax bird owners. Here are the ones that come up most often.

We care for virtually every companion bird species, from budgies and cockatiels to macaws, cockatoos, African greys, conures, lovebirds, finches, canaries, and more. If you have an uncommon species, just let us know during your consultation and we will confirm we can accommodate them.
Simply fill out our contact form or send us an email. We will schedule a free consultation call to learn about your bird, discuss your needs, and build a personalized care plan. Once everything is set, you can book your preferred dates.
We offer both options. For daily sitting, we can visit your home for check-ins throughout the day. For overnight and extended stays, your bird stays with us in our dedicated, climate-controlled bird care space in Ajax.
Each daily sitting visit includes fresh food and water, cage spot-cleaning, at least 30 minutes of direct interaction and enrichment, and a photo or video update sent to you. We follow your bird's established routine and preferences.
During the intake consultation, we collect detailed information about your bird's diet, medications, supplements, and any health conditions. We follow your veterinarian's instructions precisely and can administer oral medications as needed.
We keep all boarded birds in separate, dedicated stations to minimize stress and prevent the spread of illness. Birds are never housed together unless they come from the same household and you specifically request it.
We intentionally cap the number of birds we board at any given time. This ensures every bird receives focused, individual attention. The exact number varies by season, but we never overbook.
We serve all of Ajax and the surrounding neighbourhoods, including Ajax Waterfront, Rotary Park, Audley, Village of Ajax, Carruthers Creek, McLean, Paradise Park, Pickering Beach, Greenwood Conservation area, and Lake Driveway. If you are nearby, reach out and we will confirm coverage.
Absolutely. We encourage you to bring familiar items like your bird's favourite toys, perches, and treats. Familiar objects help reduce stress and make the transition smoother. If you prefer, we also have clean, well-equipped cages available.
We monitor every bird closely for changes in behaviour, appetite, or droppings. If we notice anything concerning, we contact you immediately and can transport your bird to a local avian veterinarian if needed. Your bird's health and safety are our top priority.
